Imagine you are heading to work. While sitting at a stop light and your eyes wander towards the top left corner of your windshield and you notice your little change oil sticker is looking a little faded.  Then you start think… When was the last time I changed my oil?  It couldn’t be time for another one already, could it?  So you glance at your mileage and sure enough you were due for an oil change 200 miles ago.

Every responsible adult knows how important proper vehicle maintenance is.  Sometimes just keeping up with the oil changes and tire rotations is hard enough.  No one likes having to pay for these expenses.  But if you don’t keep up with the routine maintenance the result is going to cost you a lot more down the road.  To ease the painful separation from you and your money why not try finding ways to save so you can keep a little more money in your pocket.

Did you know businesses offer over $250 billion a year in money saving coupons in the United States alone?   That means there is no limit to how much money you can save!  You just have to know where to find the best coupons in order to get in these incredible savings.  Believe it or not, but some of the best coupons can be found online, locally!  You don’t have to shop at big name chain stores to use coupons; so many local stores offer coupons online you would be amazed at all the discounts you could just online.

So if you find yourself in Belmont California and you need your oil changed go to GoGoCoupons and see what kind of automotive discounts you can find.  5 Star Auto Service will change your oil and filter for only $29.95 with their online coupon.  And at Spiteri’s Auto their online coupon will get your oil changed and oil filter plus the overall maintenance package for $49.92.  It is regularly valued at $147!  Here is a perfect example of how much you could really save by using coupons.

Say you go to Spiteri Auto to have your oil changed every 3 months that means you would have to have your oil changed 4 times a year.  Compare the yearly totals coupon vs. no coupon:

Oil Changed without coupon: $147 X 4 = $588

Oil Changed with coupon: $49.92 X 4 = $199.68

If you used this coupon every time you changed your oil you would save $388 a year!  What would you do with an extra $388?

Oil changes are not the only discount you will find online.  Go to GoGoCoupons and find out what your local automotive stores are offering their smart customers.

Pizza companies have certainly gotten the full use of the coupon. If you want pizza, there is a pizza coupon for you. Don’t believe? Type “Pizza” into a Google Search and the first Google suggestion is likely to be “Pizza Coupon”. The top five most viewed coupons were all for various pizza restaurants. Whether you wanted a gourmet pizza or something fast, there is an online pizza coupon for it.

In these cash strapped times, its great to feed a family for the price of a single large pizza.
In the pizza industry, coupons are a necessary part of business. And its not just your local pizza joint offering up coupons. Even the pizza giants rely on coupons as a way to earn customers. According to Wikipedia, Pizza Hut, Domino’s Pizza and Papa John’s Pizza are the three largest Pizza franchises in the United States and they all offer coupons.  If you don’t find the coupon on www.GoGoCoupons.com, you can just type in any of these three names into a Google and you will find a link for their coupons, also called ‘deals’, as the top ten most searched items.
Pizza Coupons have become a permanent aspect of the pizza industry. Take advantage! Before ordering your favorite pizza, check on sites like http://www.couponmom.com or www.GoGoCoupons.com for your discount. No matter what kind of pizza you are in the mood for, there is a coupon waiting for you.

Why have coupons disappeared? Spending and Saving habits in 2009

November 6th, 2009

When you think of “coupons” and “coupon hunting”, many of us think back to our parents or grandparents. Coupons belonged to the generation before us. Why have coupons gone out of style?

Coupons are one way to enjoy a higher standard of living on a limited budget. Coupons allow us to be able to purchase items we would normally be unable to afford. Logically, coupons should be a constant part of peoples spending strategy. Nevertheless, people redeemed half the number of coupons in 2009 than in 1999. In order, to understand why the coupon have gone out of fashion, it is important to understand the mood of the American economy over the last 10 years.

Some of the big key words that pop up in the commentary about the 2007-2008 recession are: sub-prime lending, easy credit and commodity bubble[1]. In essence, one of the main problems was that Americans were spending beyond their means. People had access to money they did not have and could not earn. They did not need coupons to live largely. Increased lending created excess’ money, money that was being spent that never existed. What did this mean? People felt wealthy and they felt like spending. During the earlier part of this decade, it was fashionable to spend, to live largely. Coupons became “old fashioned” and “out of date”. Coupons might help you save 50¢ on bananas or get you a free appetizer at dinner. People who used coupons regularly knew that coupons were designed to help you make small savings. If you were patient and use coupons often, those small savings can add up to a significant amount at the end of the year. In order to use coupons regularly, you had to be committed to checking local newspapers every Sunday for the newest advertisement, putting together a coupon folder so you can keep track of your coupons and then taking that folder with you when you go shopping. During the time of easy lending, people did not have the patience or the inclination to spend their time searching for 10¢ savings off your yogurt.

During the last year, coupons have made a come back. The 2007 stock market crash burst the feeling of wealth and prosperity that had reigned American spending over the last decade. “Saving” and “moderation” suddenly became hot words. Coupons, that traditional way of saving became fashionable again. Indeed, coupons are being redeveloped to match our new high tech society. On sites like www.couponmom.com and www.cellfire.com have put their coupons online. Instead of reading through newspapers, modern shoppers can pop online and search for coupons. Today, coupons are not just for grocery shopping. Coupons are really far more substantial savings. Using architecture coupons, as can be found on site light www.GoGoCoupons.com, you can save you hundreds of dollars on home repairs and renovations. If you use coupons when you go out to eat, you can get coupons for a free meal. Modern coupons are easier to both find and use. We are using more coupons in 2009 because we need to, but also because they are more readily available to us. The coupon is making a come back.

The Examiner!

November 2nd, 2009

Online coupons have changed the way coupons are used and found. Traditionally, individuals looking for coupons have turned to their local newspapers. As Internet connections have become fast and affordable, print newspapers are getting closer and closer to becoming obsolete, as is using them to find coupons.

Online coupons are fast taking the place of their print predecessors. Online coupon sites like www.GoGoCoupons.com or www.couponmom.com are growing fast as more and more consumers turn to them to easily locate coupons that are most relevant to them.

Coupons have become increasingly popular since the 90’s. In 1999 consumers redeemed over Four Billion Six Hundred Million coupons. In 2008 alone, consumers redeemed 2.6 billion coupons. And with the stock market crash in 2008 and the following recession, the number of coupons redeemed has risen even more dramatically. The general feeling of wealth and prosperity that saturated all of us in late 90’s and through 2007 disappeared overnight. Coupons had always represented an easy way to save money on everyday items. Now with the stock market crashing, unemployment swelling, and business in a severe downturn, ever more consumers flocked to this established way of saving on necessity items and even luxury goods.

Online coupons websites have made it easy for coupon users to locate and use the coupons they want. Although most consumers still use traditional print coupons, online coupon distribution is growing at an unprecedented rate, over 80% according to the Valassis research report. (Valassis is one of the nation’s leading media and marketing services companies)Instead of cutting up newspapers for coupons and saving them in a cupboard for the time they might use one (provided it hadn’t expired in the meanwhile), consumers can now visit online websites completely devoted towards coupons and consumer saving and in an instant print one out. Coupon sites such as www.GoGoCoupons.com or www.couponmom.com host a huge number of coupons, far more than any single newspaper. These sites have search engines. Customers can search for the type of coupon they want; instead of going through a newspaper full of coupons they may or may not want, they can skip to the ones they are interested in.

It is also easier for consumers to compare and contrast coupons when they have access to hundreds of coupons that they can sort through. It is substantially less expensive for merchants and advertisers to both create and mass distribute coupons when using the Internet. Rather than print for a circulation of thousands, if not tens of thousands, the coupon is created once and printed only by those actually interested in using it. What may have cost a merchant or advertiser hundreds if not thousands of dollars for just a single coupon displayed in a newspaper may now cost only a fraction.

6 tips for organizing your coupons

October 19th, 2009

In the article “6 tips for organizing your coupons”,  author Coupon Sherpa writes about how to organize your coupons. If you are using newspaper coupons, it can be challenging not only to save your coupons but to make them accessible. First, you should have a place to keep your coupons. If you are using coupons you have clipped from a newspaper, you are going to want a place where you can store your coupons without loosing them. Sherpa recommends using a binder. Binders are small enough that you can take them with you on your shopping trips. Storing your coupons, however, is not enough. You can find coupons for almost anything. You are going to need a way to organize your coupons so that you can find the ones you want quickly and easily. You can buy individual folders to put inside your coupon binder. You can organize your coupons by category, in alphabetical order or any other means that works for you. For coupons that expire soon, she recommends that you add a note about the coupon on your calendar to help you remember. You can use a wall calendar, a calendar on your phone or even an online calendar.  Most email sites have optional calendars you can use.

Remember to keep your coupons updated! Check your favorite online sites, like GoGoCoupons.com, as well as your local newspaper!
